Minimoon Inspiration

Swap the honeymoon for a minimoon

The term ‘minimoon’ has certainly established itself here in the UK, as more and more newly-wed couples are opting for a shorter break closer to home after saying ‘I do’.

A UK minimoon is the perfect way to have a few special days of post-nuptial relaxation before honeymooning somewhere further afield after the wedding celebrations have come to an end.

No baggage allowance restrictions or tiring plane journeys are just some of the perks a UK minimoon offers, but we could go on!

For some minimoon inspiration, we’ve rounded up our top picks for a far from ‘mini’ getaway…

As well as having gorgeous rooms and landscaped gardens to wander through on a romantic stroll, there’s also the King and Lamb Restaurant, which pays homage to royal chef Patrick Lamb who commissioned the construction of Stoke Place back in 1690. Here, loved-up couples can indulge in regal inspired dishes and traditional afternoon tea.

For something even more special, the hotel’s Friday Night on the Town package includes an overnight stay in one of its signature rooms, a cocktail each and sharing platter in the Juniper Bar, a carriage (taxi!) to and from Windsor and breakfast the following morning.

With breath-taking panoramic views across the skyline, you’ll find all the classic cocktails you’d expect on the menu with a twist of course, and if there’s nothing you fancy, the mixologists will happily create your very own bespoke minimoon cocktail.
