Tour The Toon; Our Itinerary
Great Exhibition of the North is officially underway with an exciting 80-day programme of events and exhibitions available throughout the Summer.
To celebrate, the Royal Station Hotel in Newcastle has partnered with expert tour guides to offer a limited edition ‘Tour The Toon’ package, available across four dates in July and September at just £75 per couple on Sunday bookings or £120 on Saturday bookings.
The walking tour will showcase the city’s dynamic history – here’s what guests should expect from our newest deal:
An overnight stay for two people, full english breakfast the next morning & a guided walking tour.
When will the tour start & how long will it last?
The tour will be led by expert guides, Tom & Gwen Keating, starting at 10am for two hours.
Where will we go?
Our bespoke route will begin at the hotel, which has a rich history of its own after being opened by Queen Victoria over 150 years ago. The group will then move on to discover some of the city’s iconic landmarks including:
Grainger Town & Grey’s Monument; built in 1983 which has recently been crowned in colour in celebration of the exhibition
Medieval Newcastle; including Newcastle Castle and Cathedral
Quayside; enjoy a scenic walk along the banks of the River Tyne, dotted with 7 bridges across a one mile stretch, the Quayside seaside beach pop-up and a water sculpture designed as a nod to the Angel of the North.
Millenium Bridge; an award-winning tilt bridge, which you will see in action to close your tour experience.
