Our collection of 10 distinctive hotels are located in landmark spots where some of the biggest summer events are happening this year, so allow us to show you our top picks that you will not want to miss!

Buckinghamshire, Stoke Place Hotel

This luxury hotel is burrowed within a 26 acre estate of landscaped parkland and just 30 minutes away from the centre of London.

An annual event launching the summer season in the area is Royal Ascot. From 19th to 23rd June the iconic race meet will take place, showing off the world’s top racehorses and making for an unforgettable day out. Ascot is just a 20 minute drive from the hotel, so put on your most sophisticated outfit and spend a day at the races.

Calling all music lovers… How about reliving your youth by visiting Rewind Festival South in Henley-on-Thames? Nearby in Oxfordshire, the festival is around a 30 minute drive from Stoke Place, with a line-up of Kool & the Gang, Billy Ocean, Chesney Hawkes and Shalamar.

 

Brighton, The Old Ship Hotel

Situated on Brighton’s iconic seafront, The Old Ship Hotel boasts panoramic views and excellent accessibility to numerous events around the city this summer. The hotel is also offering visitors its Brighton Rocks deal, inviting guests to stay for two/three nights including dinner, breakfast and a choice of tickets to local attractions or afternoon tea (valid until 30th September 2018).

Celebrating Brighton’s diverse and vibrant community, Brighton Pride will return for another year of amazing performances from 3rd to 5th August. Confirmed acts include MNEK, Mabel, Pixie Lott and Ella Eyre.

Cardiff, The Angel Hotel

A central venue in Cardiff, The Angel Hotel is inviting guests to discover the exciting events happening in the city this summertime.

For foodies, Cardiff offers up the Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival with over 100 stalls planned to be serving locally-sourced produce and mouth-watering street food. From the 6th to 8th July, attendees can sample an assortment of delicacies both from national and international producers.

Adrenaline junkies will be thrilled at the 2018 Speedway Grand Prix racing into the city on 21st July at the Principality Stadium. Battling it out for the winning spot at the evening of motorsport competition will be 16 drivers. Taking it down a notch, those with an ear for music can’t miss the Welsh Proms from 21st to 28th July. David’s Hall will host the week of spectacular live music – last year’s festival saw an array of performances including an appearance from the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. 

Stirling, The Stirling Highland Hotel

Celebrate the summer in Scotland with a stay in The Stirling Highland Hotel. The building is truly unique and placed within easy reach of Glasgow and Edinburgh – ideal for exploring the surrounding cities.

The 18th August sees Stirling welcome the annual Highland Games. Dating back to 1870, Stirling’s signature event attracts guests from around the world to see the traditional competition. There’ll be Highland dancing, hammer throwing and tossing the caber, with rustic Piping performances throughout the day, giving visitors a true taste of Scotland and its heritage.

Durham, Redworth Hall Hotel

Located in a private setting, the 17th century building is home to impressive facilities and an established restaurant, all of which should be taken advantage of during a summer escape.

Throughout the warmer months a packed calendar of events rolls out in the city, with one of the highlights being the gripping, open-air live experience Kynren. Performed by a cast and crew of 1,500, watch as they take you on an adventure through 2,000 years of English history. This spectacular tale of England is not something to be missed over the summer, with eye-catching sets and breath-taking special effects. 17 dates are available from 30th June to 15th September.

Fans of live music can see sets from the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Happy Mondays, Feeder, Melanie C and Echo & the Bunnymen at Hardwick Live. Returning from 18th to 19th August, in addition to music the festival will also have food and drink stalls, performances by comedy and dance acts, and multiple fairground rides.

Edinburgh, The Cairn Hotel

Found in the heart of the lively theatre district is Cairn Hotel Edinburgh. With the Old Town and Edinburgh Playhouse a short stroll away, exploring the city is a breeze.

Edinburgh Fringe Festival will be back bringing thousands of performers to the city from 3rd to 27th August. Be immersed in creativity and see everything from theatre, comedy, cabaret and opera.

Another top pick is the Jazz and Blues Festival which arrives in Edinburgh from 13th to 22nd July. The best jazz and blues talent will come together from all over the world to perform a range of music to suit every mood. Over 10 jam-packed days, let the festival be the soundtrack to your summer.

Harrogate, The Majestic Hotel

Majestic by name, majestic by nature, The Majestic Hotel promises a luxurious and restful stay. Located in the heart of Harrogate, the property is surrounded by landscaped gardens and features boast a spa and health club.

In Harrogate this summer the Harrogate Music Festival is running throughout July. This year’s theme is innovation which will bring the Mercury Award winner Laura Mvula to the town. Joining her will be The John Wilson Orchestra and a host of other artists, creating a month of soulful song.

Another option is the 25th International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival at the Royal Hall. Bringing with it the best professional and amateur Gilbert & Sullivan productions from around the globe, the festival promises to entertain this August.

London, Saint George’s Hotel

Escape to the cultural capital and enjoy a room with a view at Saint George’s Hotel in London. It’s the ultimate base for a city break, whether travelling as a couple, family of group of friends.

The world-famous Notting Hill Carnival is back this summer, taking vibrancy and immense spirit to the streets of London. Over 26th to 28th August, the carnival will showcase incredible performances from UK Calypsonians, storytellers, dancers, countless musical acts and a whole host of other entertainers.

Newcastle, Royal Station Hotel

Located on one of the city’s most historic streets, Neville Street, Royal Station Hotel is within walking distance of Newcastle’s impressive shopping scene and countless bars and restaurants, making it easy to explore the best of the city’s summer offerings.
