The Old Ship Hotel, Brighton
Situated on the iconic seafront, The Old Ship Hotel offers guests stunning panoramic views and is accessible to various events going on in and around the seaside city. There’s nothing quite like a Brighton getaway especially when the sun is shining.
One of many events this summer is Brighton and Hove Pride festival which will be kicking off from 02 to 04 August. Celebrate Pride in the Park on 03 August where the one and only Kylie Minogue will take to the stage with Clean Bandit, Fleur East and many more to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pride movement.
Ice creams at the ready as The Luna Beach Cinema will be landing on Brighton Beach from 31 July to 18 August. With musical favourites such as The Greatest Showman and Bohemian Rhapsody being screened alongside this year’s family blockbusters including Dumbo and Aladdin, there’s something to captivate all ages.
The Cairn Hotel, Edinburgh
Located in the heart of theatre district and only a few minutes from the historic Royal Mile, you can explore what Scotland’s capital city has to offer with ease from The Cairn Hotel.
Summer festivals will bring a wave of colour and excitement to the city. At Edinburgh Fringe Festival thousands of performers will take to hundreds of stages from 02 to 26 August with a variety of shows on the line-up.
Another top pick is Edinburgh Art Festival which brings together the leading galleries and museums with emerging and established artists for an innovative programme of events from 25 July to the 25 August.
Redworth Hall Hotel, County Durham
This picturesque manor house is home to a whole host of facilities to enjoy this summer. From the relaxing Retreat Leisure Club and Spa to the incredible Lounge Restaurant, and not forgetting the sweeping landscaped gardens.
With so much history in one city, the open-air live experience Kynren is something not to be missed. Take your seat and watch on as 1,000 cast and crew immerse you in the telling of a 2,000-year tale; the history of England. New for 2019 is the Viking Village where you can visit the cookhouse, woodworker’s cottage, blacksmith’s forge and of course, the Viking longship. Performances take place most Saturdays between June and September.
For something a little more musical, Durham Brass Festival will be taking over the city’s streets for 10 days of performances from 12 July. International street bands from Spain and Germany will be using cutting-edge technology to involve performers in Denmark, Norway and beyond in unique live shows.
The Angel Hotel, Cardiff
Spend a summer trip in Cardiff staying at The Angel Hotel and making the most of what the Welsh capital has to offer.
This year provides a new location for The Capital FM Cardiff Bay Beach Festival which is back bigger and better than ever near Cardiff Bay Barrage. From 06 July the beach will be open for an expanded nine weeks of family entertainment until the kids go back to school with attractions such as a big wheel, rollercoaster, movie nights and a marquee packed with delicious street food vendors.
Foodies will love Cardiff’s Food and Drink Festival where the city comes together from 05 until 07 July to celebrate the tastes and smells of summer. This year marks the annual event’s 20th birthday, and it promises mouth-watering experiences from local, national and international producers with live music performances too.
Royal Station Hotel, Newcastle
Situated next door to Newcastle’s train station and within walking distance of the hustle and bustle of the city centre, Royal Station Hotel makes it easy to explore what’s hot in the North East this summer.
Feel the sand between your toes in the heart of the city as NE1 Northumbrian Water Newcastle Quayside Seaside has popped up on the iconic banks of the River Tyne as a summer oasis. Complete with deckchairs, palm trees, beach huts and a new AstroTurf area it’s the perfect place to catch the rays, kickback and relax.
Get ready for the first Newcastle Improv Festival this summer where there’s fun to be had day and night for both grownups and kids from 27 July to 04 August. Families can pick up tips on improvising comedy and theatre, song and dance. The festival will be based across several creative spaces around the city such as Seven Stories and Stand Comedy Club.
